Who are you?
I grew up in Watford, Hertfordshire, and currently reside in Fells Point while on assignment with the Royal Navy. Over the course of my 34-year career, I have served in a variety of operational and leadership roles, and I now support a US Navy mission, managing more than 140 multi-service personnel. I first moved to the United States in 2015, and since returning to Maryland in 2021 have greatly appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with the community. Proudly English by birth, I am a lifelong sports enthusiast, with soccer being my greatest passion. I am a devoted supporter of Crystal Palace in the Premier League and follow the England national team closely. During my time in the United States, I have also become a keen supporter of the Ravens, Orioles, and Capitals. In addition, I enjoy travel and have been fortunate to visit 47 U.S. States, and I hope to reach all 50 before returning to the United Kingdom next summer.
How did you learn about the St. George’s Society of Baltimore?
I first became aware of the Society during my earlier assignment to Maryland from 2015 to 2018. During that time, I corresponded with then-President Harry Aycock regarding the visit of HMS Monmouth to Baltimore, and I recall with appreciation the Society’s generous support to the Ship’s Company.
What do you enjoy most about SGSB?
I value the Society for the meaningful connection it provides to my English heritage. Trafalgar Night holds particular significance for me as a serving member of the Royal Navy, while St. George’s Day offers a welcome opportunity for my wife to meet other spouses. I also enjoy the annual Polo Day and the chance to meet fellow members from diverse walks of life and professional backgrounds. Above all, the Society’s fellowship and its thoughtful celebration of British cultural heritage make membership especially rewarding.
