Ralph Day

Who are you?

From a ranching family in south Texas, Ralph now resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, along with his wife, Jenny, a native Washingtonian, on their horse farm.  A retired U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer, Ralph has worked over the last 35 years in the Defense Industrial Complex, specializing in advanced manufacturing and process improvement.  His hobbies center around the equestrian pursuits, especially foxhunting and polo, as well as golf, shooting sports, and woodworking.  I am particularly interested in the Georgian Era of the age of fighting sail.

How did you hear about the St. George’s Society of Baltimore?

I first heard about the St. George’s Society through the British Officers’ Club of Washington when that organization promoted the annual polo match.  As with anything polo, I immediately became interested.  With the welcoming nature of the Society membership was the obvious choice.

What do you like about the SGSB?

It has been said before, but without a doubt, the major trait of the Society is its members, along with the fellowship and camaraderie they exhibit at every turn.  The diversity of activities of the Society has something for everyone, young or a bit more advanced in age.  From annual meetings, to polo, to the Trafalgar dinner, being with the members of the St. George’s Society has been uplifting.  I even persuaded my best polo buddy to join the Society as well.
