A Tradition of Service and Stewardship

For more than 150 years, the St. George’s Society of Baltimore has remained True to Its Trust—offering aid and fellowship to those in need and supporting causes that reflect our enduring values of duty, dignity, and shared heritage.

Originally founded to assist British citizens in distress—including widows, children, and servicemen far from home—the Society continues its charitable mission today through the St. George’s Society of Baltimore Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Through this foundation, we support distinguished institutions on both sides of the Atlantic that uphold our legacy of service and cultural kinship.

Our Legacy of Giving

In past years, the Society has proudly supported initiatives such as:

  • The Invictus Games – an international adaptive sports competition for wounded veterans.
  • Help for Heroes – providing physical and psychological rehabilitation to British service members.
  • The Prince’s Trust – empowering young people across the UK through education, training, and mentorship.

How We Give

The Society’s charitable work is sustained by the generosity of our members, friends, and corporate partners, as well as proceeds from our annual flagship fundraiser, The St. George’s Polo Cup. These contributions allow us to honor our legacy of service and extend our impact for generations to come.

Gifts to the St. George’s Society of Baltimore Foundation are fully tax-deductible as allowed by law. In addition to one-time contributions, we welcome and encourage:

Annual Donations – A vital source of ongoing support that enables the Foundation to plan and respond to charitable needs throughout the year.

Corporate Sponsorships – Partner with us to support our mission while connecting with a distinguished and engaged audience.

Gifts of Appreciated Stock – Make a meaningful contribution while benefiting from potential tax advantages.

Legacy Gifts and Bequests – Leave a lasting impact through planned giving that supports the Society’s future work.
